MO Better Foundation was established to help enhance the quality of life of Missouri adults and children with permanent physical disabilities by providing financial assistance to aid in purchasing items to assist in daily living particularly those related to technology, transportation and mobility, 

We provide help when no other funding source is available, or when other funding sources are not adequate to cover the costs.

  • Assistive Technology Equipment

  • Adaptive Gaming Equipment

  • Communications devices /speech recognition software

  • Evaluation and training costs for driving

  • Shortterm (weekend) Van rentals

  • Stair lifts

  • Hoyer lifts/tracks

  • Smart Home devices/environmental controls

  • Speech recognition software

  • Portable Ramps

  • Prosthetics enhancements (for work, sport or leisure)

  • Shower chairs

  • Lumber/materials/labor costs for minor home modifications including building ramps, widening doors, bathroom modifications

Ineligible Items/Equipment: 

 

We do not consider applications for:

  • Purchase of vans

  • Equipment used in therapy

  • Medical items

  • Medical supplies

GRANT ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must reside fulltime in Missouri and have a primary (and diagnosed) permanent physical disability or impairment including (but not limited to)

  • Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular disease causing disability

  • Spinal muscular atrophy

  • ALS, all other neuropathies, and all other conditions causing disability

  • Cerebral palsy

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Post-polio

  • Guillain-Barre´

  • Spinal Cord Injury (caused by traumatic injury or medical cause)

  • Spina Bifida

  • Stroke

  • Transverse Myelitis (if paralysis is still experienced)
